Max the Cat

Thanks for popping in! Please have a listen whilst reading my bio and leave a comment if you like. I hope you enjoy what I do.

I've been writing/singing songs for as long as I can remember, and always wanted a "job" as a songwriter so it's important for you to see me as a songwriter, and not an artist. Having said that I often play on the streets (a busker) as well as local gigs. I was published in the "past" by Heath/Levy, one of the leading publishers at the time with a song called "Loving me, Loving You" which was entered into the Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately, the group that got it (can't remember their name) lost their record contract and the song was ditched. A song that comes to mind when I say this is "There Goes My Everything"! Not true, 'cos I'm still here doin' what I enjoy.

It's just a pity I haven't made any money out of it....we'll, there you go....life can be shit sometimes....but I'm in a good place compared to many people on this planet who don't have food, or shelter, or a future.

If you've read my bio to this point and still listening to my songs then you're ok by me and I wish you the best at whatever you do.

I write, sing, and record, in a small home-studio (a bedroom). The gear I use is based on a ZoomHD 16 multitracker, so everything is recorded "live" so to speak.

.

I've added lyrics here just in case you don't know what I'm saying, so click on "lyrics" when listening and sing along if you want.

No master recordings here...just wee songs... and this press comment tries to sum me up I s'pose, and I'm grateful for it 'cos I don't like "boxes". I prefer circles.

?Max the Cat's songs are simple and endearing. It's difficult to put them in a box and say this is where they belong as the variety of music has no barrier. Wonderful stuff, and would highly recommend you have a listen.?

Accoustic based songs/rythmns with a wide-ranging style (apart from jazz) 'cos I can't play jazz.

One last comment about my "recordings". They were all done "distances" apart, so you might have to adjust your volume levels between songs, and thanks for being here.
